Barclay’s Premier League: Match Week Two

This week we will continue to provide insight for the English Premiere League giving you: (1) a valuable cheat sheet to examine all players across all games and sites, (2) a game breakdown for the weekend and (3) some players to target when building lineups.

Below you will see the games featured on the slate, followed up by a game by game breakdown. The breakdown will focus on game pacing, Vegas odds and some players for each squad that will be key in a victory for either side. Good luck!

Match Week #2:

06:30am: Manchester United at Swansea City: Manchester United -300 favorite:  Manchester United played marvelous in week one as they destroyed West Ham 4-0 last Saturday.  Star transfer Romelu Lukaku scored twice, substitute Anthony Martial scored the third goal, and Paul Pogba curled in a long range fourth goal.  Without star man Gylfi Sigurdsson the Swans survived a post job by Manolo Gabbiadini and strong overall attack to draw Southampton 0-0.  Manchester United pressure should overwhelm Swansea City in Matchweek 2, and I don’t see an answer for Lukaku, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, & Co. as ManU should roll to a multiple goal win this week.  The issue for our DraftKings and FanDuel teams’ is this match isn’t on the main slate and starts very early in the AM.  I predict United winning 3-0.

Key Players:

Manchester United: Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan

09:00am: Watford at ACB: Bournemouth slight -105 favorite: Watford rallied furiously last week to play top four Liverpool to a 3-3 draw.  Watford goals were provided by Okaka, Doucoure, and Britos in extra time in the 93rd minute.  Bournemouth lost on a beautiful set piece header from Hegazi in the 31st minute to fall 1-0.  New goalie transfer for Bournemouth Begovic (ACB 5.1DK): Was excellent with 5 saves and 9DKFP in the loss.  2.5 goals expected in what looks like a very close matchup this week between Watford and Bournemouth.  I like ACB to rebound 2-1 behind another strong effort from Begovic in net and a Joshua King (DK 7.7) goal.

Key Players:

ACBournemouth: Joshua King (ACB 7.7DK), Ryan Fraser (ACB 7.1DK), Charlie Daniels (ACB 4.8)

Asmir Begovic (ACB 5.1DK): Goalie

Watford: Jose Holebas (WAT 5DK), Stefano Okaka (WAT 4.5DK): Both double digit fantasy points week 1

09:00am West Bromwich Albion at Burnley: Burnley +145 slight favorite: West Brom is 2-0-2 in their four matches v Burnley, they’ve drawn against Burnley the two matches in Turf Moor.  Burley hasn’t won their first two top flight matches in almost 35 years.  Burnley put on a great show defeating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 3-2 behind two goals from Sam Vokes (Bur 6.1DK): One header goal, one volley.  Vokes dropped 27DKFP, and has 7 goals in his last 6 Premier League appearances.  Tom Heaton (Bur 5.0DK): Had 4 saves and got the win with 9DKFP.  West Brom defeated ACBournemouth 1-0 with Ahmed Hegazi header goal off a corner kick in the 31st minute.  Ben Foster (WBA 4.6DK): Had two saves/win/clean-sheet, and logged 14DKFP.  Burnley has had a nice run of form at Turf Moor last season and I like them to win 1-0 this weekend.

Key Players:

West Brom: GK Ben Foster (WBA 4.6): 1-0 14DKFP 2/2SV 1CS, Chris Brunt (WBA 6DK), Hegazi (WBA 3.1)

Burnley: GK: Tom Heaton (BUR 5), Sam Vokes (BUR 6.1): 2G/27DKFP in week 1

Brighton at Leceister City: Leicester -145 favorite, 2.5 Goals expected: The Brighton Seagulls showed impressive organization and resolve for the first 70 minutes against title favorite Manchester City before falling 2-0.  Leicester lost 4-3 to Arsenal on Friday in a very high scoring, exciting offensive thriller.  It took a late goal from Arsenal substitute Olivier Giroud to propel the Gunners to victory.  Jamie Vardy found his champion form scoring two goals and Okazaki scored the third goal.  I see Leicester and Jamie Vardy/Riyadh Mahrez overwhelming Brighton 2-0.

Key Players:

Brighton: Knockaert (BHA 5.5DK),

Leicester: Mahrez (LEI 8.4), Vardy (LEI 7.5), GK: Kasper Schmeichel (LEI 5.4):

Crystal Palace at Liverpool: Pool -325 Favorite and a slate high 3 goals expected: Liverpool is deep and talented, but they also have the propensity to play poorly against weaker sides.  Liverpool also had a Champions League matchup this Tuesday after their first league match this past Saturday.  Mane (LIV 8.6), Firmino (LIV 9.1), and Mo Salah (LIV 8.5) all played heavy minutes.  We must watch to see who makes the starting eleven for the Reds.  Trent Alexander-Arnold (LIV 3.9DK):  played well over the weekend and netted a beautiful bender in Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League clash.  Crystal Palace was embarrassed losing 3-0 to newly promoted Huddersfield Town.  There wasn’t a ton of positives to discuss from Palace in match week one.  Liverpool should beat CP.  I see a high scoring match something like 4-2 Liverpool.  Coutinho is rumored to a transfer to Barcelona so he may not play again.

Key Players:

Liverpool: Firmino (LIV 9.1), Mane (LIV 8.6), Salah (LIV 8.5), Trent Alexander-Arnold (LIV 3.9):

Crystal Palace: Christian Benteke (CP 6.9DK), Patrick van Aanholt (CP 4.6DK):

West Ham at Southampton: Southampton -145 favorites 2.5 Goals expected: Gabbiadini and host Southampton played well offensively in week 1 v the Swans but ended in a 0-0 standstill.  Dusan Tadic, Maya Yoshida, and James Ward-Prowse had a few solid scoring chances that narrowly missed for Southampton.  Manchester United crushed West Ham and spoiled the debuts for goalie Joe Hart (WHAM 4.0DK) and Chicharito (WHAM 5.8).  I expect West Ham to put forth a better fight this week and play Southampton to a 1-1 draw.

Key Players:

West Ham: Joe Hart (WHAM 4.0), Chicharito (WHAM 5.8), Arnautovic (WHAM 6.2)

Southampton: Dusan Tadic (SOU 7.8), Gabbiadini (SOU 6.8)

Arsenal at Stoke City:  Arsenal -150 Favorites, 2.5 Goals expected: Arsenal won a very exciting 4-3 match v Leicester City last weekend.  Goals from new stud transfer Alexander Lacazette in the second minute, followed by goals from Welbeck, Ramsey, and Giroud.  It appears star man Alexis (ARS 10.2DK): will NOT play this week due to an injury.  Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger insists that Alexis Sanchez isn’t going to another team.  Mesut Ozil (ARS 8.3DK): is another player who is rumored to be very unhappy with the Gunners. Stoke and goalie Jack Butland (STO 3.9DK): hung tough vs Everton this past weekend losing 1-0 on the lone goal from veteran Wayne Rooney in the 46th minute in Goodison Park.  I expect Arsenal to win a closely contested battle 2-1.  I see Lacazette putting another goal in the back of the net.

Key Players:

Arsenal: Lacazette (ARS 9.0), Ozil (ARS 8.3), Oxlade Chamberlain (ARS 7.3), Kolasinac (ARS 4.7), Xhaka (ARS 3.7)

Stoke: Shaqiri (STO 7.2DK):
