Recap from the last set of EPL fixtures –
It was a mixed week last week! If you took my advice and stacked the Manchester United vs Leicester City match with either of MU’s midfielders that were listed you would have done well. Unfortunately West Ham decided to not turn up at all and threw in a dreadful performance away to Newcastle, this meant that Chicarito did not get a chance to score!
I will keep an eye on teams like West Ham, Newcastle, Brighton, Huddesfield. They are all tipped to struggle this season which means prices for their players will generally be low but there will be times where they go on a run of two or three wins in a row. It is vital to be aware of those winning runs so you can stack their key players.
I will look at some point in the very near future to copy and paste the individual results of all the players that were tipped in the previous week.
Picks for this week –
Ben Foster (WBA) $4,600 – This is an excellent price for someone who has only conceded once in three EPL fixtures. WBA’s opponents this week are newly promoted Brighton, who themselves haven’t scored a goal in the league so far and look likely candidates to be relegated come the end of the season. An excellent chance of a clean sheet here.
David De Gea (MU) $6,000 – The most expensive GK in DraftKing’s pricing this and most weeks. Rightly so! He hasn’t conceded a goal so far and Manchester United look to be the title winning/challenging team that they have so often been in EPL history. It will depend on how you build the rest of your team but sometimes you have to pay for the best players!
Ahmed Hegazi (WBA) $3,000 – Another bargain price. As you can see I am starting to stack the WBA vs BHA match as I believe that WBA will win reasonably comfortably. Hegazi has scored this season, had the 4th most clearances in the league and contributed to his team keeping two clean sheets.
Laurent Koscielny (ARS) $3,600 – Arsenal have had a terrible start to the season and have looked extremely fragile at the back. The only bright spot of their 4-0 loss to Liverpool was the return of Koscielny. DK’s pricing algorithm means that defenders prices increase when they score a goal or have an assist. This is good news for us as goals/assists are not that common for defenders which means there are bargains to be had! I fully expect Arsenal to sort themselves out and beat Bournemouth this weekend.
Willian (CHE) $7,600 – An attack minded midfielder who on average is creating three chances a game. He had an assist in Chelsea’s last match, a 2-0 win over Everton. He is just as likely to score as he is assist, so at this price a must have player in your lineup.
Eden Hazard (CHE) $9,700 – I have gone for an all Chelsea midfield this week. They have scored seven goals in three games with the majority of their chances being created by central midfielders. If Chelsea can keep their discipline (They have had three red cards so far!!) I think they will be dominant over Leicester City.
Olivier Giroud (ARS) $6,700 – He didn’t start vs Liverpool due to pressure on Wegner to start new £50 million signing Lacazette. Giroud is an extremely experienced, proven goalscorer at this level and I see him being on the team sheet to play Bournemouth. There is a small chance he won’t start again but I don’t see this as a problem as he has already come off the bench and scored this season (vs Leicester)
Romelu Lukaku (MU) $10,800 – I wrote him up in last week’s picks, he had six chances to score including a missed penalty! I fully expect him to bounce back this week and score. Manchester United are scoring goals and I believe this another case where it is worth paying the high price for a player in your lineup.
Dusan Tadic (SOU) $7,800 – A slightly cheaper play for our utility player. Tadic is the creator is Southampton’s midfield scoring eight goals and having thirteen assists last season. He has also had a good start to this campaign, playing several key passes and getting shots in and on target.
I have been speaking to DraftKings in the last week or so as I think it’s such a shame that they only include the Saturday EPL games on the slate. It means you have fewer players to pick from, makes it harder to score points and sometimes less enjoyable! I have been assured that they are looking to turn it into a weekend contest in the near future.
I will be entering the following Single Entry contest’s as I prefer those but I would also enter the Quarter Jukebox as you can mass enter and really get a feel for playing around with different LU’s and trying to create variance by using more or less of the salary cap –
EPL $1.5 Equalizer – $12 entry, $200 to 1st
EPL Single Entry $5 Double Up
EPL $5k Set Piece (3 Entry Max) – $3 entry, $500 to 1st
Good Luck this week! If anyone has any questions or needs help with filling spots in their lineups then you can email me at Georgeadeytennis@hotmail.co.uk or follow me on Twitter @George_adey
